The programs we offer are strategically structured to address the needs of at-risk youth. Charity Family Life is located in the community and is easily accessible to our constituency. It provides a safe, nurturing environment where youth can be reached without the daily distractions of their surroundings. By providing a strong base for academic achievement and social well being, Charity Family Life anticipates producing quality citizens who will, in turn, build quality neighborhoods.
After-School Tutoring
Program
The after-school program runs Monday through Friday, from 3-6pm, with a focus on offering quality, one-on-one or small group homework assistance and academic tutoring from experienced staff and trained volunteers. This program also includes access to a computer lab; supervised recreation; life-skills teachings; and hot, nutritious meals.
Summer Enrichment
Program
Charity Family Life also offers a summer enrichment program that provides hands-on learning and recreational opportunities to students. This program runs for eight weeks in the summer, Monday through Friday, from 8am-1pm, including breakfast and lunch. Activities include trips to museums, parks, businesses and other educational sites; golf lessons; soccer lessons; swimming lessons; and cooking lessons.
Mentoring Program
Charity Family Life offers a year-round mentoring program for its students who are currently enrolled in either the after-school program or the summer program. Charity Family Life finds quality mentors for the students, trains the mentors, and pairs these mentors with students who will benefit most from the mentor. Any emotional and social improvements observed in the students that can be directly linked to mentoring are noted.
